Fishing mods?
As we all know, the fishing mechanic is objectively terrible and poorly designed, are there any mods that make it easier or at least less of a random click mini game with next to no skill?

If you want it to be as effortless as possible:
*CJB Cheat Menu[www.nexusmods.com]

If you want to increase difficulty and take advantage of other tweaks to your own liking, making you slowly but surely better at the mini game:
*Fishing Made Easy Suite[www.nexusmods.com]

There is a decent amount of skill and as you level it up or use certain bait or tackles you can make it easier too.

You also do not need to click it all the time as it may be worth holding the mouse/use button down for a lot of the fish.

Otherwise there are a lot of mods that are for fishing where some range from making it simply easier or harder to others that are simply instant catch and allows you to skip the mini-game entirely.

Here is a link to the fishing mod page on nexus and you can sort by total downloads to see the more popular ones and make sure you look at ones that have been updated to work with 1.6 .

I respectfully disagree. I happen to like the fishing in SDV as-is (unless I'm playing on mobile, then it's terrible, because I'm terrible at it).

Not to be that kind of person, but this sounds more like skill issue to me.

The fishing, while it does take time getting used to, works well and is easy to understand once you get the hang of it. Using the training rod can also help as it allows you to level up your fishing skill easier, only letting you catch easier fish but with a bigger "green bar" which also increases in size naturally as you level up. Catching fish at fishing level 10 is way easier than catching the same fish at fishing level 0.

An example of terrible fishing mechanics in a video game that are poorly designed would be Big the Cat's campaign from Sonic Adventure.

I have several games I can compare with (Kynseed, Roots of Pacha, Sun Haven etc), and Stardew Valley wins when it comes to fishing. I have always liked that it is challenging. Some fishes are annoying as hell, but... They have a pattern you can study and learn.

I am actually using the Fishing Made Easy Suite to INCREASE the difficulty nowadays! I also increase the profit from fishing with that mod...... But that's well deserved :brownchicken:

Pretty sure you mean "subjectively" Because I enjoy the fishing and have no issues.

As we all know, there are unfortunately still some people who either don't know the difference between 'objective' and 'subjective', or truly believe that everyone must have the same opinion as them.

Spoiler Alert for the latter: There are very, very, very few things that everyone 'objectively' believes these days, and that includes things things literally grounded in fact like the earth being round (sorry for the earth pun lol).

I disagree. I sucked at fishing at first but that just meant it was more of an accomplishment when I did learn the basics. Now it is my favourite part of Stardew valley.

It gets a LOT easier after you get a few levels in. The fishing bar gets bigger with each level you get.

Start with the training rod, get a level or two in the fishing skill, buy the Trout Soup from Willy's shop that gives you an extra level in Fishing as a buff. Work up to getting a better rod so you can use bait and (later) tackles. Tackles will make this so much easier, too.

Catching a few fish will quickly pay for the bait and Trout Soup. If you fish in the ocean in front of his cabin you can easily sell everything you catch (he's open till 5pm).

Willy also sells bait for specific types of fish, which is useful if you're going the community center route and want to get it done in your first year.

Or get a crab pot for the first levels, it gives 5 exp/harvest regardless of what's in it (even trash). You need 100 xp for level 2 and 380 xp for level 2. Just harvest it every day to passively level (and get the crab pot creatures you need for the community center bundle, if you take that route).

I'm in autumn year 1 on a non-modded playthrough and I have fishing level 9. Most fish are super easy to catch and it's honestly a great way to make a little extra cash in your first year. Fish at the end of a day whenever you have some time/energy left over.

Or don't, and mod it. It's your playthrough.

You're doing a good job of conflating objectivity with belief yourself. Belief has nothing to do with objectivity. Nobody "objectively believes" ANYTHING and nobody ever has because that's not how belief works. The Earth IS a spherical object, period. That IS a fact that is not up for debate. It has nothing to do with belief. We have empirical data that doesn't give two ***** about anyone's beliefs. It is not a case of "objective belief" to accept reality for what it is.

Was it really necessary to necro an 8 months old thread to start an off-topic argument
