Telling everyone about the mayor and Marnie would help to bond their relationship,
would also be nice if I could invite lonely villagers home to dinner.
Personally, anything that strengthens the bond of community.
Her favorite things include beets and tulips, so maybe we'd talk about why she loves those things, and if there are any special memories around them. Maybe beets were something her grandmother made for her way back in the day, and she recalls being a young girl with stained red fingers, thinking it was super cool and pretty. Maybe tulips were something George used to bring her all the time when they were courting.
She also knows a recipe for rice pudding, so maybe that has significance for her too. Maybe her mother used to feed it to her when she was sick, because it's comforting and easy to digest. Maybe as an extra-special treat she likes to prepare it with raisins, but George was never a fan of it so she almost never makes it anymore for just herself. So if you brought her some it would probably mean a lot to her.
It seems Demetrius loves rice pudding though, so if you had a dinner party with both of them, it might be nice for them to share that enthusiasm. I bet they never really talk in their normal lives. It might be fun for them to each find a new friend.
Demetrius also knows the recipe for fried mushrooms, which happens to be a favorite of George's. So maybe it's a potluck dinner, and he and George get to bond over that, and the whole family feels a little bit warmer and more expanded.
You could swap mining stories with him while you're together, and he could share whatever history and wisdom he may have gained in his younger and stronger days, which would make him feel connected and useful again.
I can just see the glee on his face as he pulls eels from the ocean, and brags that he'll cook you the most amazing fried eels you've ever seen! And maybe Evelyn will sit back and smile, enjoying the fact that her husband is finally making dinner for once. And after sharing the meal, maybe all of you feel +1 lucky that you got to do it together. Who knows? Maybe the Mullners will actually get a little bit lucky with each other for a change!
But that's still not enough. I want to do more for Pam. She also asks if there are hogs on the farm. Maybe she could come see them sometimes. Petting them would be great for both her and the pigs' mental health. Adding a walk to the farm to her daily routine could ease the stiffness in her legs and, after a while, she might be able to go foraging in the mountains -- something she says she wishes she could do.
But I want to do even more for Pam. She needs a hobby to add meaning to her life, so that she doesn't have to numb herself with alcohol. She even says so herself. You know who else needs a hobby? George. Maybe they could play cards or checkers and solve crossword puzzles together at the Community Center? They both love to watch TV so they'd probably have a lot to talk about, too.
Having good food, shelter, friends and meaningful activities could heal Pam's wounds and soften her into a fun older lady. I think she'd have a lot to give to others if given a proper chance in life. :3
A few examples would be:
Confronting Evelyn with her super hidden crime in which she crushed George's leggies and made him the way he is today. Or confronting Marnie with her super secret plan to drive the farmer insane by giving them annoying cats. Or maybe expose the truth about the green rain event, which is actually a very ominous event even though many think it is a good thing. Then of course we also have the nasty Queen Neferneferuaten lurking in the Skull Cavern!
These are really beautiful ideas, Arkkumanu! I like the way you think. Thank you for sharing them, because now it makes me wish I had thought of this myself!
The food donation system is just genius. Even Jodi talks about wishing she could have healthier choices than Jojamart. Even though I'm a Joja-route fan, I'm all about people having choices. I'm sure Gus would work with us to provide healthy food to the town at a very affordable cost. Maybe there is room in the back for a donation pantry, to be sure everyone has access to good nutrition.
repairing the bus and boat seem like good works. restoring the library and museum.
from the quests it implies the monsters in a cave provide a danger to the town, so dealing with those might be warranted. several of the singles in town have dreams which you help them reach.
i dunno. not my job to meddle in the business or people with a functional relationship.
> maru arrange linus a better type of fabric for his tent so he stays cool on summer and warm on winter
> maru build george a spider walker machine thingie so he could go hiking (and maybe even egg hunting)
> clint take shane as an apprentice in the boiler room on fridays after the later loses his job
> willy take pam, shane and kent on a fishing tour across the valley
> penny tutor alex and abigail for college or something
> arrange for sebastian and maru to build something robotic/motorized togheter
> abigail taking leo for a hike
> a cutscene where alex and sebastian try and fail to befriend each other until something makes them both laugh
> have the bachelor/rettes take a look around at the various professions across the valley and comment on them (haley taking care of marnie's cows, alex working out at clint's forge, leah taking carpentry advice from robin, etc.)
I wish this was something you could do again after the first time...
He's not homeless. he lives that way by choice.
He's "rusticating".
