Best use of Prismatic shards

I have collected enough prismatic shards to obtain the galaxy sword, complete the museum, and complete the movie theatre bundle. From this point on, I have since gathered 2. What is the best use now for this rare item?

Magic Rock Candy - you need 3 shards for one of those, but benefit is immence.
Also - you will need quite a few for forging (and reforging) tools at the Volcano.
It's a universally loved gift (except for Haley).
It fun to have rainbow Junimos and wear prismatic clothing.
There's also a unique use in MP...

Keep 4 for an optional Ginger Island quest. Enchanting the axe and pickaxe with "powerful" at the forge are my must-haves, I also find "crusader" for my sword is useful if I'm running Skull Cavern for mummies.

As far as I understand, in 1.6 now you have to find shards during that quest - not just donate what you already have saved before.

As far as I understand, in 1.6 now you have to find shards during that quest - not just donate what you already have saved before.

I think it was always that way? but if you have them on hand, you can go ahead and donate them before you search, to save time having to go back. I do the same for most quests if I have the items already.

No, that's new
Before you only needed to donate the shards, now you have to actually collect them

Anyway, my (mid-late) prismatic shard uses are enchanting and magic rock candy

Visit level 50+ in Skull Caverns, they become a lot more common down there

generally if you want them,

1.) on floor 10 of ginger island dungeon cave.
2.) craft crystallarium, fill them with jade, buy staircases and do a deep dive in skull cavern, with like 100 bombs and 100 staircases. once you get about 50 floors down and constant iridium nodes you'll start getting them from the iridium nodes.

that said, eating them seems crazy.
