Bee houses now work with flowers in garden pots!
Just saw the 1.6.6 patch notes. This will be HUGE! It means you can set up honey farms anywhere, even off the farm or indoors!

except hives still don't work indoors?

but ya, I guess it opens up more options for different locations.

edit: also can you plant things in a pot off the farm?

Unfortunately the bee house will not produce honey if you keep it indoors

Garden plots do work outdoors, tho, and have for some time. Only seasonal plants, tho. Evelyn even tells you that when she gives you the first one.

I actually made this request recently so my Farming Made Easy Suite mod's Bee House option to remove the indoors and winter restriction could properly detect flowers in garden pots. If you want Bee Houses to work indoors, my Farming Made Easy Suite mod has that option!

Was about time if you ask me. There was just no good reason why them bees couldn't do what they do on flowers growing in pots! :brownchicken:

Unless the pot looked like a flyswatter >.>

Garden plots used outdoors can only grow farm crops of the current season if they are placed on the farm or ginger island farm. The only exception is tea plants which can be grown outside the farm. If you try to plant a crop in an outside area that isn't the farm, such as the bus stop, you'll get an error message and it will fail.

The main benefit of the new bee house and garden pot interaction is that you can use the garden plot to place a seasonal flower on top of a normally untillable spot, such as the green grassy areas of the forest, beach and meadow farms.

So the bee houses will now work all over ginger island?

ya, I seemed to think that was the case.

but it should work on ginger island within the western area at least.

I assume only the western "farm" part.

Yeah - but it's an assumption (one that I share, but I'm not 100% sure). I'll give it a try.

it's not that much money, but a few pots and houses in other places on the map could be interesting.

even just within the western part, that's a pretty big area it opens up for fairy honey.
