It's fall and I didn't plant an apple tree. I have the mushroom cave. Can I get three apples somehow before winter?

If you are super lucky, the Traveling Cart may sell apples on Friday and Sunday.

If you have the Greenhouse[stardewvalleywiki.com] repaired, you can plant fruit trees of any season inside. Fruit trees planted in the greenhouse are not affected by the seasons and will even produce fruit during Winter.

If you're super super SUPER lucky, you can check garbage cans everyday and somehow get apples from that huge loot table.

The greenhouse is the most reliable method in your situation though for sure.
