Can you still fill out the island field office if you've paid for the golden Joja parrot?

I need to fill the museum so I can get the recipe for the ostrich incubator for perfection, but you only get that through completing the island field office collection.

I'm still missing the fossilised tail that you only get through panning around the dig site but I can't tell if I'm just getting unlucky or if I've genuinely just locked myself out of completing it by paying the golden Joja parrot to find all the golden walnuts..

Unlocking the golden walnuts with the parrot will not stop you from getting any of the parts for the field office.

I /am/ just getting unlucky then, that's a relief. Much more preferable than abandoning the playthrough. Cheers!

Try upgrading your pan to gold at least, it will make it easier to get more items while panning and it also increases the chance of another panning spot appearing right after

If you can afford (I still can't on my current playthrough), you could even get the iridium pan, people are saying it's suuper overpowered

I upgraded my pan and visited the dig site to pan a couple times a day almost every day for a year before I found that tail in my since 1.6 update game. I've had prior games where that was one of the first things I had for the field office. it varies

The Iridium Pan IS overpowered. That thing gave me three Lucky Rings on my Meadowland Farm within an ingame week.

I don't know how it is with the other farm layouts, but Meadowland has panning spots pretty much constantly. Running Tracker on it gives you so much loot.
