I just learned about the Workbench
I just made a new char to run through to Ginger Island. I haven't played in YEARS so I had a lot content to catch up on...

Never noticed the workbench. Just saw it on the internet last night. Pain.

Work bench pulls from chests near it to craft so you don't have to get things out yourself. Yeah big chests might mean the workbench is even better, though I've always had enough already in the small chests next to it to craft everything and not filled them all up. If you hoard multiple stacks of things you might need big chests.

I got 6 real chests, they might have started out small then I upgraded them to large chests at some point. I got 2 by the house that have house stuff and monster parts. basically I got some machines inside the house I drop off in these chests, coffee beans and jade mostly. the other stuff that generates daily I want to store, I dump in here.

I got 4 chests by my other area, with 5 mega smelters on the other side. chest 1 raw materials.
chest 2 Unprocessed goods
Chest 3 processed goods
Chest 4, seeds and stuff for the yard.

i also have a machinery alcove inside my house which has a chest which holds machines where I can swap out the existing machines for other machines if my goals shift.

a small chest would look like this:

probably fine. but gets cramped.

a large chest would look like this:

much less cramped. the small chests work, the big chests are better. and when you can make them for 3 pieces of jade and 30 minutes on a deconstructor. why not go big?
