Got something cool as a level 4 fisher, how rare is it?

I'm no stardew valley buff, but I was just fishing and I caught a herring and a chest, inside the chest was a diamond and a sword called NEPTUNES GLAIVE. So that was cool. Was that very rare or no?

Base chance of 15% for a chest to show up, 3-4% for a diamond to come from the chest, 0.6% for the glaive. Modified by luck to some degree so bit higher on a good luck day, but yeah, pretty rare.

What a great find! I always hope for one of these. They make it so much easier to conquer the mines! I can usually use it all the way down until the lava levels. I think it's much better than the Trident, which is the other weapon you might find from fishing.

It's not the kind of super-rare that makes you want to keep the save no matter what. But it isn't common. I often get one by the time I'm level 10 fishing, but often by then it's not needed any more. I don't find one on every playthrough, and I do fish a lot. So I'd say it's pretty rare, and you should be super happy that you got one!

That was a very good struck of luck :)

By the time I got mine I already had the (until then) best sword of the game, so it was no big deal, but to have it at the begining makes all the difference for the better.

My Neptune's Glaive dropped in Spring year one. It's better than a galaxy sword.... Base damage is "okay" but it generated with "25% crit chance, and +75 damage on a crit... With scout, I'm critting for over 800 on most mobs, and it crits more than half the time. I haven't found a monster that survives a "big" crit. Downside is that some non-crit hits are 1 damage. So it's like "1, 1, 10, 845" on a very bad string. lol. Still kills things waaaay faster than my galaxy sword on year 2. I use the ring that lets me attack 10% faster because more hits is more crits. The only time I switch is to use the holy sword to kill mummies, and I always grumble because it takes so long comparatively. lol.

Yes quite a rare drop indeed, i got the glaive my first play through at launch and haven't fished it up since.
