Move chest?
I accidentally hit my chest with pickaxe, and it BOUNCE AROUND? Is that "1.6" thing or it's always been there?

Can confirm, this was a 1.5 change.
In 1.5 you could "kick" them (clicking repeatedly while walking into the chest) - but hitting with any tool (well, except your Player Character if you are too critical) did nothing.
Hitting not-empty chests with tools and getting them moved this way was introduced in 1.6

Just hit them with any tool :)

I think Pelican Town needs a new festival for this. Chest Bumping Day. Can you bump your chest around a course faster than some NPCs? :steammocking:

also just realized tonight you can place a big chest over a small chest and all the items will transfer into the big chest in the spot of the little chest and a the small chest will enter into your inventory
