stardew valley kills discord and wont connect

so my friend and i have played this game together before. We decided to play it again recently but now there having an odd issue. Essentially whenever they open the game they lose discord connection and they cant connect to my game. They cant even host either.

This is very confusing and we have a group game session coming soon that wed like to get this solved for.

we all own copies of the game, we all have decent connections, none of the games are modded and we are all running the most recent version of the game.
