Are extend family quest fish only 1 fish per quest?

Had an idea to make some money using the Legend II with the fish smoker,
I wanted to catch a good hand full of them and I thought you were able to caught more than one per quest,
so I caught my first one and put it in a targeted bait maker, getting 8 of Legend II target bait and proceeded to go 8 for 8 no Legend II catches and haven't caught one since.

The wiki says your able to caught more than one per quest, I've seen other post in discussions where people say you can,
the wiki also says that the targeted bait should work on the extended family fish if I read it right.

Idk if anyone knows why I didn't catch any but please let me know!

Just guessing here, but probably because the chance is low. The mechanics for legendary fish and extended family are different from regular fish, but I think the chance is about 16% with targeted bait. Failing that 8 times is slightly bad luck, but nothing crazy.

I think you just bad luck. I did caught 2 legend II only using deluxe bait.

Yep you can catch more than 1. I think you just had unlucky chances. I also recommend putting on a Curiosity Lure along with targeted bait, that should help make them spawn a little more.
