I found a 1.6 Bug

If you pay the Joja Parrot the money to find all the Walnuts, before you finish Birdie's quest, you cannot get the Fairy Dust Recipe, so you can not complete the crafting portion of Perfection. This is a very large bug, I can't figure out anything to do to fix it, and I hate the idea of starting over. If anyone knows how to fix it, or if I am doing something wrong please let me know! I have the Pirate Locket, the game won't let me click on her with it, or even talk to her. I tried opening my game to multiplayer, and my friend was able to do the quest for her and give her the locket. So there is clearly something wrong!
