George's Leek Quest
Year 3, spring is nearing its end. I accepted the quest to gather 12 leeks for George at the start of week 2, and ever since I've barely found any leeks. Is the spawn rate decreased during this quest or am I just getting some bad luck?

Leeks are not super common in my experience, but it sounds like you might be a bit unlucky yeah. I have struggled a little with this as well and I blame the secret leek monster also known as Evelyn. She want them all leeks for herself. :brownchicken:

Try wild spring seeds if you have the recipe.
I completed this quest by converting spring forageables into wild seeds.

If you found at least 2-3 leeks to be able to make these seeds then you should have more than enough by the end when they grow. I still had some leeks left after completion when using this method.

One craft yields 10 seeds and they cost one of each of the spring forageables.

It's bad RNG, but I feel your pain; definitely been there. Is there at least a week left? If so, you can craft some spring seeds & plant them; you're likely to get more leeks than took to craft the seed packet. (Honestly, these days I try to end Spring Year 1 with at least 24 spring seeds, for when George's quest pops up; most of the time I don't need them, but they help reduce my anxiety quite a bit).

Crafting spring seeds is a very good suggestion! Though I must admit when I wanted to do that I struggled finding a horseradish all of a sudden :laughing_yeti: The RNG gods are naughty.

Ironically that's the one i keep finding often.

Almost makes me sad that i can't turn these into artistan goods. I love some horseradish spread on my sausages mmm delish.

I was on day 22 before I even thought of seeds. For me leeks are usually pretty common so I didn't figure seeds would be necessary.

They aren't necessary but helpful if RNG is bad for the leeks.

Yeah. I still have a couple days so hopefully I'll get em, but it'd weird going 5+ days straight without seeing one.

If you're having trouble with Leeks, drop a Daffodil/Horseradish/Dandelion into a Seed Maker and it will spit out Spring Wild Seeds (unless you get Mixed or Ancient seeds, that can happen too).

It's not as efficient as turning one of each into 10 seeds, but it allows you to keep the Leeks you find and not potentially waste them by getting 10 Daffodils or something unlucky like that.

Only Horseradish can be put into Seedmaker to get Wild Spring Seeds.
Rest are only used for the hand crafted recipe (1 of each spring forageables = 10 wild spring seeds)

Oh, well that's lame.

Still, something to consider if you're really struggling with Leeks.

I got lucky, with the gatherer chance to pick up double I ended up getting the final 5 on the very last day.

I was pretty unlucky with that quest, too. I also finished it on the last day with the wild seeds growing into the exact amount of leeks needed to finish it.
That was the only moment in the game where I felt some unnecessary pressure.

Wild Spring seeds grew me potatoes parsnip and cauliflowers... so much for wild forageable seeds

Are you sure you weren't planting Mixed Seeds in the spring?

I have planted a ton of Spring Seeds over multiple playthroughs over the years and I have never, ever seen Spring Seeds produce those crops. Those had to have come from Mixed Seeds.

I would add that I have no mods. How about you?
