I completed this quest by converting spring forageables into wild seeds.
If you found at least 2-3 leeks to be able to make these seeds then you should have more than enough by the end when they grow. I still had some leeks left after completion when using this method.
One craft yields 10 seeds and they cost one of each of the spring forageables.
Ironically that's the one i keep finding often.
Almost makes me sad that i can't turn these into artistan goods. I love some horseradish spread on my sausages mmm delish.
They aren't necessary but helpful if RNG is bad for the leeks.
If you're having trouble with Leeks, drop a Daffodil/Horseradish/Dandelion into a Seed Maker and it will spit out Spring Wild Seeds (unless you get Mixed or Ancient seeds, that can happen too).
It's not as efficient as turning one of each into 10 seeds, but it allows you to keep the Leeks you find and not potentially waste them by getting 10 Daffodils or something unlucky like that.
Rest are only used for the hand crafted recipe (1 of each spring forageables = 10 wild spring seeds)
Still, something to consider if you're really struggling with Leeks.
That was the only moment in the game where I felt some unnecessary pressure.
Are you sure you weren't planting Mixed Seeds in the spring?
I have planted a ton of Spring Seeds over multiple playthroughs over the years and I have never, ever seen Spring Seeds produce those crops. Those had to have come from Mixed Seeds.
I would add that I have no mods. How about you?
