What is the BEST way to farm mystery boxes?

I've only got a few books left to find, and they both come from mystery boxes.
I fished for 2 days, one of those days being MAX luck and got 2 golden mystery boxes, now I'm in the skull cavern (with the altar on for extra difficulty) and I haven't found any yet.

Does anyone know the most optimal way to get them? or have any ideas?

Gave this advice to a similar thread and it worked for the OP:

What worked for me was visiting the Ginger Island Volcano mines on good luck days with lucky rings and food buffs and killing enemies. I never got them from mining. I would average 2-3 golden mystery boxes per day. However the drop rate from those books is extremely low when you take them to Gunther to have them opened.

I do own every book and I am willing to let you visit my town so you can read every book and get the achievement if you simply want the achievement.

To add: Getting the Treasure Appraisal Guide is far easier since it can be obtained from artifact troves. Best way is to buy them from the Desert Trader for omni geodes, which can be farmed in the Skull Cavern (just bring a bunch of bombs and bomb rocks and you'll rack them up)

Apparently it can also be bought from the Bookseller for 20,000G. I'm not sure where, haven't spent much time on 1.6. It isn't in his regular offerings when he visits the town twice a month.

this is all I'm looking for now, I've cracked open 40 artifact troves and haven't found it yet. That treasure appraisal guide will kill me

I have been getting mystery boxes all over the place, from forging, from chopping trees, from fishing, as well as mining, I been getting 6-10 a day, so dont know why its a problem. I have not even been to Ginger Island yet so dont know how many you would get from there.
