Mushroom Log imbalance
The mushroom logs are absolutely amazing. Great addition to make it easier to get mushrooms. However, I've had them going for a while now (surrounded by a decent number of trees) and they aren't producing many chanterelles. I don't know if I've gotten a single chanterelle from them, but I'm not sure. There are plenty of the other mainland mushroom types. Is this intentional or is it an issue?

Wiki says it depends on trees around - you need Pine trees

That's interseting. Description of the log calls out wild trees, so I figured it was only those that could grow from the new seeds would trigger it.

I guess that just means no fruit trees?

I've found that chantarelles in general appear a lot more rarely in the Mushroom Cave, and Morels are even worse. I remember seeing Morels frequently in the Secret Woods, but not since the 1.6 update. Saw maybe 1-2 during the entire year.

Almost like CA nerfed any non-log ways of getting them. Add something that produces ridiculous amounts of materials and then nerf the previous ways of getting them...

And yes, Wild Trees refer to non-fruit trees, IE, trees that grow in the wild.

By comparison, the new tree seed is called a MYSTIC Seed.

I get mostly common and red mushrooms but I have found chantarelles several times. Most of my logs are around pines or a mix of several regular forest trees. Also get purples mushrooms occasionally.
Agree that morels are hard to come by, most of mine come from the Secret woods.

Oak increases chance for morel.
Pine increases chance for chanterelle.
Mystic increases purple.
Maple increases red.
Everything else is more likely to give common.

Wild trees mean trees with moss. Every tree around a log increases the odd for the mushrooms to have increased quality. Trees with moss count twice for that purpose.
