Fishing - I Can't reel in anymore...

I can't reel in anymore when fishing, I have tried with both mouse and controller.. I can cast out, and hook the fish with the "HIT" thing... but when I tap the button to reel in it doesn't reel in.. is this a bug? I have tried reinstalling, didn't work... please help !!

Oof! That does seem like a bug. I've been fishing just fine on my save. I'm sorry I can't offer any help, but I hope you can get it resolved.

might be a bug but you shouldnt tap the button you'll wear your wrist out, you can hold&release its much easier

or use a mod to skip the minigame

hold and release is a save way to never get a single fish, thnx to the catchbars movespeed and physic.
you must tap the mouse buitton normaly to still have the fish in the catch bar. needed to relearn that taping speeding again after starting a new farm with 1.6

mine was fine until the trout derby and now i can reel anything in either

Weird. I was actually wondering if fishing was made a bit easier. I found it impossible before but can actually catch things now. Even first day fishing on my new file and I got to level two in just the one day. But I'll probably still add the skip fishing mod soon, for efficiencies sake.

When reinstalling, if you want a fresh install, you need to turn off cloud saves. Otherwise Steam will reinstall the old broken version as it saves it as is, mods, bugs and all. Installing with cloud saves off, long as you check everything was uninstalled and deleted before hand, will install a fresh new version of the game, of course that means, no saved game as well. But you could move a backup of your save. Try fishing on a new game then try putting your save back and try it. If fishing is still broken on old but not new, then you know it's something specific to that save.

Could be that. I've not had any derbies yet on either of my farms.
