Did you continue your pre-existing save or start a new save?
I chose to continue my pre-existing save with the release of 1.6 as I really wanted to check out some of the new stuff that was added as early on as possible without redoing the whole game again, which is now currently in Year 5. One day, however, I'll start a new save file on 1.6.

What about you? :brownchicken:

my partner and I started a new save just so we could experience the updated early-game stuff, and will eventually experience the late-game stuff

I will start a new save on Switch once the update is out. I am only in Fall year one so starting from anew will be now biggie

you start which ever you want, you can see the new content on a new or old save.

the only difference is playing on a new save will allow you to try the new map.

good luck and have fun.

It's kind of surprising for me to see how many people abandoned their old 1.5 save and started a brand new save on 1.6.

the old save works in 1.6, the game version 1.5 isnt a factor.

that being said, im fine playing my old saves, instead of starting over and losing years of progress, as i will see all the content the game offers in my old save on the new game version, aside from the new map.

new.

never reached perfection before, as my kid and I kept starting new farms xD got so damn close a couple of times before. even have a 10 year old farm.

figured this time I'd start my own farm fresh, and I will reach perfection, or die trying

This is my second save. New save with all 3 big expansion mods StardewValleyExpanded+RidgesideVillage+EastScarp also sh*t ton of other mods(Graphical/QoL/Gameplay etc) My plan is on doing everything that can be done on this save.

New, because I needed to try out the new map! Plus, going in blind with all kinds of fresh content is a special kind of challenge, and you know how much I love challenges!

Someday we'll be playing this game like it's all old hat again, but now is a special time when we're all still not sure how to maximize the stats of this update. It's kinda cool. Nobody knows what to do, even if they do read the available spoilers. I'm glad I get to be in on the ground floor of this update and share the feeling with everyone.

I've reached perfection a couple of times on 1.5, and it was really enjoyable to go for.
Since I just reached perfection mere days before 1.6 released, I figured I would just continue my most recent save and keep going for just a little bit longer. I may as well, after all, considering I came as far as I did when I did.

Plus, as I mentioned before, it'll allow me to experience some of the new content a little bit quicker. Already I experienced a brand new maze layout for the Spirit's Eve.

A no crops challenge definitely seems a lot more feasible on the Meadowlands Farm.
Unless, of course, you decide to push yourself further by not using the new map. :corncob:

Continued on my pre-existing file as I mostly wanted to re-claim my 100% achievements for the game. Did have fun seeing the new additions to the game but I wouldn't start a fresh save just to see everything in context when I can just see close to all of it right away.

I felt exactly the same way as you did.

I'm playing my old file and the new meadowlands farm at the same time :stardrop:

you had a new maze layout? I had the same exact same maze as every other time I've played.

also, I'm not worried about what you're doing, you asked a question, and I gave you my answer
