giant rat at bus stop

at 11:30 PM after taking the minecart to the bus stop, there was a pretty large creature that looked like a crack-starved rat. it ran past me, towards the farm, pretty slowly but i didnt seem to be able to interact with it. not sure if attacking would have done anything.

Has anyone else seen this, and know if it leads to anything or there's any way to interact with it?

I think its an opossum actually.

I have seen it too, it ran into a bush near me. I didn't know what to do so just stood there like a lemon for a few minutes then went home.

seen it when i came to the town after midnight from the mines, it looked like a very big rat in the dark indeed, but i guess its more meaned to be a Trashbear or something like that, taking into account the patchnote on "new neighbours"

Might be related to the new tree in cindersap forest next to the farm entrance. Not actually found that yet so my guess isnt based on knowing, just assuming based on the new neighbors and a new giant tree.

I saw that and I had no light source...it scared the crap out of me...

It's an opossum, they don't do anything besides the occasional late-night jumpscare - just like IRL :P

I've now seen the possum; it's all white and moves slowly enough to identify. I also just saw the raccoon as the Junomos were fixing up my greenhouse. It's dark gray with a mask so definitely knew what it was. But I've also seen something that is a little white or light gray and purple diving into the bushes. Moving a lot quicker than the possum unless they change speed.

The possum I've seen was slightly purple, so they may have differente color...it was dark though so I may be wrong
