About dessert festival

I am playing with my old save that I have decorated my desert a lot. I wonder if desert festival will destroy all the decorations and tools I set? Do I need to clean it up before having the festival?

Normally festivals use a different map, like the one at the sea.

Nope. Similar to the beach during the Night Market, the entire desert will return to what it was before once the festival is over.
