1.6 Update, what will old farms not see?
I can't find anything that actually says what of the new update will and wont actually appear on preexisting saves. Will old farms get the new community bundles for instance? I've seen that some of the required items seem to be different in new games, but my old farm is the same required items. Will changes appear as I unlock a new part of the community building or are they all the old ones because the community center was "started" before the update.

But I'd love to know anything else that's not going to be added to older save files. Do I have the new crops? Tickets and the machine in the Mayor's house? The book seller? Mystery boxes? New NPC clothes and dialog? The new items and events?

Would love to know what wont actually show up on an old farm so I really know if I want to start a new one or not. Thanks.

Everything is added accordingly. Someone recently posted his six year old farm basically has everything the new update brought in regards to the entire enviroment.

is the npc reactions to green rain (namely the 1st reaction to it,you will see their guess its a yearly thing reaction)

I would assume some of the new dialog would be the main thing you might miss out on.

think the only thing old farms wont see is blue grass, iam on a standard farm and i havent seen any anywhere nor found any recipe for it think its exclusive to the meadowland farm

You can buy the recipe on Qi´s walnut room on Ginger Island for 20 or 40 Qi gems.

I see someone commenting about green rain, didn´t think that mechanic was exclusive to the new farm. If that´s the case, that would be the only thing. Everything else can be experience by anyone.

You can buy a blue grass starter recipe from Qi's Walnut Room for 40 gems, which requires 25 fibre, 10 moss and 1 mystic syrup to craft. :kaze_reverse_carrot:

The new bundles for the community center are for if you selected to have "remixed bundles" under the advanced settings when starting a new game! So on your current save file you will have the standard bundles, but if you create a new farm with the remixed bundles selected the bundles will be switched out to request different items :)

Then I think it´s safe to say there´s nothing unique to a save with the new farm, since the blue grass can be made by anyone on late game.

as some mentioned, you will find everything (new content) on your old save, the only reason to star a new one, is to see the new farm map.

wasnt talking about the rain specifically

just the npc dialog when it 1st happens
existing farms get dialog from the npc as if it has happened before and they are not surprised

only thing other then that is free machines like one you get from setting up the cave
(tho not missing out as you can get the recipe and craft them yourself)

I find that the various QoL enhancements make early to mid game smoother, so it's interesting to start another save to see how the early to mid game changed, too.

That, and well. Starting the update with a maxed out farm and maxed out everything, you just jump into the new content and devour it in a few hours then you're done with the game again. Starting over gives you more reason to play more SDV, and some of these new additions and tweaks will have more context.

For example, there's some new weapons that 1.6 added, and if you already have your enchanted infinity sword, you'l just go "meh whatever" and throw a new weapon drop in the trashcan.

But, I found one in my new save, a Holy Sword (it has a Crusader enchantment!) before I even got the skull key and I saw that weapon, and I was like "I know EXACTLY what I'm using this for...." and it was an awesome find.

And yes, when I got to the Skull Cavern, I brought it with me and now mummy floors are the easiest floors and I don't have to waste bombs killing them.

most people dont play stardew valley to be "done with it again", they play constantly and dont care about "maxed out everything", they will continue on for years upon years and not get bored or be like "meh".

as for playing a new save, sure... if they want to restart and build all that back up again to how many ever years there old save was, then they can go for it, some love doing that and some dont.
