Game won't start up?
Has anyone else had difficulty getting the game to launch from Steam since the update? I've tried the first five steps in the pinned thread 'HOW TO FIX YOUR GAME' but I can't figure out how to complete the rest of the steps. The sixth step tells me to go to %AppData%\Roaming\StardewValley, I don't know what that means. Is that somewhere in file explorer? The step after that includes a link for a download, when I click the link it says the download is no longer available. The step after that asks if Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0 is installed, I don't know what that is or how to check if it's installed. I'm so lost, I use Steam for all my games because I'm not a tech-y person and have basically zero troubleshooting skills. I've got almost 600 hours in this game, I've been playing it since it launched and was so excited for the update but I can't even get the game to start. The pinned help thread has comments locked so I can't ask for help there. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution that can realistically be done by someone who isn't tech-savvy?

Press the windows key + R, a window will pop up and enter %appdata%, find the StardewValley folder and there you have your game saves. If I helped, please write
These days you can ask AI for answers to questions like these, search up ChatGPT or Gemini and try asking them questions like "What is Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0 and how do I check if it's installed?" or "What does this guide mean when it says '%AppData%\Roaming\StardewValley'?" and it will tell you with surprising precision.

It'll save everyone a lot of time because we wont have to ask you tons of questions to diagnose the problem for you, and you wont have to wait for people to get back to you.

If you're playing a modded game, you'll need to update SAMPI first or delete the command line in the launch option (right click on the game => settings => remove everything from launch line)

Thanks for your help. My husband just got home and he fixed it by deleting the launch options and now the game starts. Appreciate your help.
