Already having the infinity sword and not being able to get the achievement

Seems like i have to collect all the galaxy souls again to make the infinity sword again for the achievement. Or is there a way to trigger the achievement somehow when the sword is already obtained?

Currently not. But maybe it gets fixed down the line. As its only a steam achievment, you may just wait for it. Otherwise, yes, you have to craft a new one.

It isn't that hard to get galaxy souls, plus if you feel it's very unfair to have to reforge it, just get the materials for it on a given day, and the next day go forge the sword-->get the achievement--> reload the day (if you feel it's an unfair waste of resources).

I got the achievement after crafting the sword again, luckily I already had 2 Galaxy Souls. You could try and cheese Qi's quests by visiting him every Monday and see which one is the easiest. If you only care for that achievement alone or you're impatient to get it, you could sleep through all days except Monday to reset his quests if the one selected is too much of a pain for you. Most of them aren't too tough, depending of course what year you're at and how much things you've hoarded.

I believe the act of CRAFTING the infinity sword is what pops the achievement, I just picked up a new galaxy sword from the adventurers guild to craft a new one and hope it works

Are you sure it’s crafting it only that triggers it? What about dropping it and then picking it up again? Can’t test it for myself because I didn’t have it before the update.

i did try to drop and pick it up, unfortunately it doesnt work atm. it might get patched in the future though

I could probably change it so that, instead of checking on forging, it will check for the achievement when the weapon is added to your inventory + it can check on load game if you have one in your inventory already. That should cover all bases
