Trout Derby Notice?

Hi Hi! I was wondering if it was just me that didnt receive anything in my farm mail regarding the Trout Derby that starts in the summer with the new 1.6 update? Im trying to go through this mostly blind until i fear im wasting the day away (i was looking all over town mr qi's mystery boxes lol)

The only indication that i got that the mini festival was starting was that I went to Willy and he mentioned gathering supplies for it. SO sadly I did go to the wiki to figure out where to go. Am I supposed to get a notice like other festivals? If not I hope CA will implement one!

My issue with it (trout derby) Is i spent about two days fishing, and didn't get any tickets. worried there's something i'm doing wrong or if the rates are SUPER rare.

There is mail for it. You're not geting it the day before thou, you're getting it the day it starts

I had about 7 tickets on first day fishing o.o I am not sure if you did anything wrong or not.

I got no mail for it and missed it! I even checked my collections tab, no letter for the trout derby.

I think I saw a notice on the first day saying it was starting and that's all I saw apart from the calendar. I ran all over the place until I found the booth set up by the river. Got some fun prizes. I had fortunately prepared a big batch of the new bait and had just bought the Iridium rod and had tackle.

I didn't see any mail but I did see a "Derby is starting" message on the bottom-left of the screen like all other festivals. It appears as soon as you get out of bed, as the derby starts as soon as you get out of bed and lasts all day.

Check the calendar guys, the Trout Derby is listed there and lasts for two days. There's also a signboard that appears a few days before the event, close to the river south of the farm where the event takes place.

If you want to maximize tickets the easiest way is to go there before the event and farm some Rainbow Trout, then make Rainbow Trout Bait using the machine that converts fish into bait. It makes it much more likely to hook them and thus increases overall tickets.

With that you should be able to get 15 or more tickets per day if you have a high fishing level and good rod+bait+bobbler. It's more than enough to get all of the prizes in the first day. I won't spoil what they are, but there's only two unique items to get from the prize list anyways.
