Green Rain is Awesome
So on my new playthrough, in the first few days of Summer, Green Rain happened, and wow.

I collected about 40 fiddlehead ferns (~4,000g!), about 100 moss, and probably 200+ fiber which means I'll never have to worry about having enough grass starters to keep grass growing for my animals, lol.

Also gave me a foraging levelup, and in general I find that my foraging is like Lv6 I think? which is not bad at all for the first week of Summer.

Just got it, fiddleheads to the keg :)
Moss is nice because of quality bait.

I wonder if I missed something special about it.

AFAIK it's just a frickton of moss, fiber, and ferns lol.

The only annoying thing is all the shops are closed..

It's awesome, unless it happens on S7Y1, or any of the Sunday's in year 2, then you're hosed for 2 more years out of a recipe.

There's those books that teach you any recipe that you've yet to learn, AND there's re-runs on Wednesdays.

Not 100% sure on this, but I think the re-runs on Wednesdays always prioritize ones you're missing, or at least that's the way it seemed to me anytime I accidentally missed one.

EDIT: Yup, looked it up on wiki, the re-runs prioritize recipes you missed.

Especially when you see Demetrius in a hazmat suit, though with the game's sprite and art style, it looks like he's wearing a rad suit.

I'm not terribly fussed, would have just added it via console if need be, but it could have been a major downer for someone new to the game. Forgot about how the re-run mechanic actually worked.

Someone new to the game might not really know, or even care about the QoS or cooking in general as you can't even cook until you get a cookout kit or the kitchen upgrade which most new players probably won't do until most of the way through their first year.

I got two strange tree seeds from foraging / wood gathering during the rain. Waiting to see what they grow into!
