When I load the game it says something went wrong processing machines the error log has technical detail. what does that even mean. Can someone please help I am computer illiterate.

Two Things:
1) Modded or Vanilla
If Vanilla, verify integrity of game files and retry

If modded...
2) Do you have both Automate and Producer Framework mods?

If so, Automate updated BUT the compatibility patch for the PF machines is NOT updated yet and will vomit a rather alarming mountain of errors over the processing machines into the SMAPI log and bring the game to a GRINDING halt over time. If this is your case, for now you will have to do without Automate or without producer framework until the patch is updated.

If its neither of these, the error log can be found at %appdata%/stardewvalley/errorlogs which you can easily access by copy-pasting that string into the Run prompt (Win+R) - if nothing shows up then unfortunately may have to try and search for others with the issue online.
