Game won't update to 1.6

[Trash mutt]

I'm not sure why but my game is stuck at 1.5 hotfix 3, i've made sure automatic updates are on and that i'm not on any beta branches, and even after uninstalling it and reinstalling it the game still hasn't updated to 1.6. I am in australia but I doubt that would have anything to do with this issue, does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it?

Just restarted my computer to see if that would kick things into gear- and It didn't work right away but as I was typing this steam decided to let the game finally update. So here's what I did in case y'all want to see if this works for you too:
-restarted computer
-opened stardew valley once steam was open
-hit 'new' to start a new game, but then hit back to return to the main menu
-closed the game

then like, 30 second after that it updated. sorry to hear some of you are having the same problem but hopefully this helps, or it fixes itself on it's own!

I got the same problem. I did have SMAPI though, so I'm doing a fresh install to see if it snaps out of it. I'll let you know if it works.

lemme now if that works, I'm having same issue, never had any mods installed

Okay so a fresh install, then launching the game to the opening menu before closing out worked for me. A few seconds after closing it updated and it went very fast so I hope this works for y'all. Good luck and happy farming!

Having the same exact issue. Steam said it updated but the game itself is still stuck in 1.5

I can't update to 1.9. Reinstall also isn't doing it.
