Once you are forging 2 rings together the first one should probably be an iridium band combined with a luck ring. After that whatever you prefer is probably fine.
I haven´t really dig much into it, just checked the rings I can craft, but I have to ask: Are there other rings like Iridium Band that are a combination of other rings?
I also like the vampire ring and I was thinking to mix it with another combat focus ring, but the ones sold by the Adventure´s Guild are mostly meh.
As for the combinations, that mostly depends on your playstyle. I'm using:
For monster farming:
- Iridium band + lucky ring
- Napalm ring + Burglar's ring
And for anything else, if i somehow manage to find a 2nd lucky ring:
- Iridium band + lucky ring
- iridium band + lucky ring (maybe a slime charmer instead of the iridium band for when i grow slimes, but i never really do that)
I never really get hit though, so i'm just completely skipping on defensive rings.
There's also the Glowstone Ring, which is a weaker version of the Iridium band, but beyond that no, there are no other basic rings like that. That's what the forge is for after all^^
You gonna think I´m crazy, but actually, I spend tons of resources crafting lights that I place in all maps hahaha. Being working my way from the farm out, initially I was gonna fill the maps with trees, but yeah, not that many titles where you can do that, so I´m making light post and some light-torchs hidden behind bushes and what not. It´s just for looks, but it really boost the magical look of some maps at night.
But yeah, I know what you mean, and I would be basically upgrading my Glowstone ring. Thank you for the detailed response.
I gotta ask though, what about Vampire Ring and Inmunity Band? Both sound good to me, are they not?
EDIT: Currently using Glowstone Ring and Magnet Ring by the way, but I do have Vampire Ring and Inmunity Band on my farm somewhere, I just haven´t test them because ... well because I´m lazy, same reason why in the middle of floor 30 of the skull cavern I always go "aww f*ck, I didn´t bring food"
and SMAPI will give you error messages if you wear 2 lucky rings with other rings, I know I used two and get red error messages all the time, and I dont have double the luck effect.
not sure, I think the napalm ring.
at the altar in ginger island.
The Vampire ring restores 2 HP and you can easily loose like 20-30 HP per attack in the late game, so that's 10-15 monsters you might need to kill, which is way too much in my opinion, especially since people who're struggling to not get hit might not be able to heal themselves up properly before the next hit.
As for the immunity band, that's up to you. Each point of immunity gives 10 % of immunity against status changes, so the immunity band alone gets you 40 %. You can pair that with the Genie Shoes or even better the Mermaid Boots (best shoes in the game) to get 100 % immunity against any ailments. This can help, if you've problems in the dangerous Dungeon in the lategame, since there's one debuff that prevents you from eating. Personally i don't use it though, since debuffs only get applied when you get hit.
