Release date speculation for update 1.6

Let's speculate.

What we know:
- It will release in 2024
- The update is already in the testing phase

So, I speculate, it will release on February 26th 2024. It is the 8th anniversary of Stardew Valley and it is a Monday, a good day for a release.

If you have insider info, why not simply say so instead of "Very soon" every two weeks? ^^

From the Discord today - It's likely to be within the next two weeks:

@Mod Author We unofficially expect a Stardew Valley 1.6 release between February 26th and March 12th (or very soon after if not). There's no public beta, it'll go straight to all players on release.

Now is a good time to get your mod updates ready, if you haven't already. SMAPI, Content Patcher, and an increasing number of other mods already have alpha updates available on Nexus.

See the pinned posts about joining the 1.6 alpha and the mod author FAQs, and feel free to ask if anything is unclear!

I seriously doubt it's gonna be later in the year. ConcernedApe himself I'm pretty sure has outright stated he was currently working on it and wasn't all that far off at this point. So I doubt it's gonna take him ALL that long to get around to it anyway. I just hope it's soon before I start playing it again. I'm just waiting on him at this point while I wait to start a new file anyway.

if the current stardew is playable on your device, I don't see why the expansion wouldn't be

Nah, save game breakages are incredibly rare. Even many mods have no problem adapting your save file. I'm almost entirely certain the transition will be fine.

That being said, there's been a recommendation to start a new game because of all the new things added in 1.6. But existing games should work fine.
