Multiplayer problem: how to remove split screen?
Hello farmers, thank you in advance to all those who'll take the time to help me...

So, I started playing Stardew Valley with my dad a couple days ago - he from his home, I from mine. He's the host, so he built 1 cabin for me: I just had to join him from the Steam friends' "Join game" option.
Absolutely no problem from my side, but he's told me that when we play, his screen is split in two: one half is the regular game, his character, his farm, etc. The other half is just a black screen with a central pop up window showing him my character's model and my name, along with the number "1".

He'd like either to be able to play multiplayer with me, using only his own character's visual, or to be able to see what I'm doing with my character - if the split screen system allows it.

So what should we do? :reuschicken:

Sounds a littlebit like a mixture of Remote Play together and you trying to join the lobby with a second copy of the game, confusing the game of your father. I personally would recommend to use the ingame lobby system if possible, either by having the lobby being shown to you or, if that doesn't happen, by using the code function.

As for the splitscreen, it is supposed to be started by pressing a button on a secondary input device on your fathers PC or remotely through you through the Remote Play feature. The remote feature can be controlled through the Steam game interface or the big picture mode as far as i know, but it is obviously better to try to not trigger it in the first place, unless you specifically want it to (in which case it would be better, if your father invites you to the Remote Play Session instead of you offering to join)
