Care to tour my storage system?
So, I had chests all over my farm and more often than not, I kept running out of room. So in summer of Y2, I built a new barn as a storage shed. Now I have few problems storing everything and I'd like to share my storage shed.

Since we don't have signs or anything, I ended up using items and it works very well for organizing. As you can see by the screenie, I've sectioned the areas for each item I've collected so far. There's even an extra section that I'm not sure what it will be used for. I'm sure something will come up later on but I tried to make the sign items as logical a connection as I could.

Item ______________ Marker
Fish/Bait ______________ Bait maker
Veggies ______________ Pickling Jar
Fruit ______________ Keg
Artifacts ______________ Dwarf Rarecrow
Minerals ______________ Dwarf Rarecrow
Housing ______________ Bee Box (Kinda looks like a house, right?)
(Hats are kept in housing area too)
Resources ______________ Log Brazier
Armor ______________ Creepy Statue
Weapons ______________ Creepy Statue
Monster Loot ______________ Creepy Statue
Cooked Food ______________ Pumpkin
Forage ______________ Racoon Rarecrow
Trash ______________ Trash Compactor
Seeds ______________ Farmer Scarecrow
Fertilizer ______________ Farmer Scarecrow
Flowers ______________ Flower Pot
Artisan Goods ______________ Cheese Maker

Let me know if you see something I'm missing or any improvements to make. I do realize that I could stuff more chests in there, but for now I don't need them so it's better to have them sectioned and organized rather than maximizing the number of chests. Hope you enjoyed this tour and am inspired for your own system.

I have a few million cash im in yer three and I ahve 6 chests a few are almost full liek the ore and gem one but I dont see any reason for more storage unless i was going to start collecting every single item in the game...

u waste free spaces u cant fill them all so its better to combine some chests

But what if someone wants some stupid, obscure fish? ;)

I end up having 6-8 chests directly outside of the farmhouse front door/porch, two next to the sell-bin (gold star items + anything I might want to grab on the way to town from that direction, like certain gifts), and two inside (extra cooking/food stuff that doesn't fit in the fridge).

I like them close to the house because I do 99% of my chest-gazing just after I wake up and just before bed. And after a while, I don't even have to look a them all that often.

Can't imagine having more than that - would drive me crazy. You did a great job at organizing that much storage, tho. Using items as markers is a good idea. 8)

Nice. Going to copy some of that.

I have a chest in my barn for some farm supplies, but I never thought to make a barn for storage... Talk about increasing your effective farm space! Thanks for the picture/idea!

I hope to eventually have at least one of every wallpaper. The chests inside the house was getting crazy stuffed with food items so this was more borm out of a necessity to store wallpaper and fish. Everything else kinda came after XD

It's very nice... but I really don't see why you need so many chests. You do know that this is a game about making money... :-)

Sell stuff! No need to store it! XD

I'm hoping the dev or some mod will enlarge the chests space.
Nice job you have an excelent torage room.

I am way too into this game. I love your system ^_^

Fortunately, the villagers seem to want current-season stuff (for instance, no pumpkins in spring, but they'll ask for parsnip). So I've put aside one chest for each season, and try to keep only the basic version of each item, selling the gold and silver stars for moneys.

The fish and raw materials and artefacts and minerals on the other hand... ugh.

They will never ask for artifacts. You only really need to keep 1 stack of each mineral/raw material. (No need for different qualities). I only need 2 chests for raw materials -- one for plant stuff -- wood, forage, sap; and one for rocks -- ore, minerals. Monster stuff takes up a 1/4 chest down the line.
