I heard it was 5 dollars at a point, is that true?

No, at least not in the US. https://steamdb.info/app/413150/
I never, ever buy games on the day of their release and at full price (maybe twice in the last decade) but I bought Stardew Valley on the release date for $14.99. I mean, really, that price is ridiculously great for a brand new, quality game!
I've not regretted paying "full price" (even though it's definitely a value price!) for SV since the day I got it. I'm glad Eric has sold at least 425,000 copies (probably more like half a million now). He worked so hard to make Stardew Valley, he did an excellent job, he supports it and us, and he cares about his game. It shows.
I hope Eric becomes one of the richest mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the indie game world. Maybe it will inspire others to put in the effort and reach the level of quality and provide the value that he has done.
I'd say this is definitely worth it.
Totally agree. :)
This game is a blessing
