Which character is your favourite? Avoid spoilers if possible.

I freaking love Linus. He was the first character in the game that I really wanted to befriend. He gives great gifts and has some pretty cool dialogue. I only wish I could invite him to come live with me on my farm so he wouldnt feel such an outsider, plus i'm sure he has amazing foraging skill. His bait recipe though...

For me, all the characters are pretty well realised.

No need for an accident. Just figure out a way to get them to get a divorce. You can have Robin and I'll finally have my beautiful scientist husband.

As for favorite character, mine is Linus. I also wish there was an option to allow him to move onto my farm. I have enough room and I'm willing to build him a nice home.

Definitely Abigail! She is sweet, a rebel against society, easily relatable and just fun :). She is unique and I guess growing up with strict parents I completely can relate to her frustration with her parents

I really like most of them. I think the only ones that haven't grown on me are Caroline, Alex and the two kids, Vincent and Jas. Early game, I like Pierre but later he irks me with one of his cutsceens and how he acts in one of Abby's cutscenes. And Morris is, well, a jerk.

I love Linus, he's the one I befriend early on and I always take him food even after I have 10 hearts with him. I wish the gamelet you hlp him out more, give him better food, a new bedroll, whatever he may need and let him know he's not an outsider. I dig that the game includes someone like this, someone that's so easy for everyone to forget about, but when you get to know him you find he's someone who's very kind and generous and who doesn't ask for much and doesn't want to be a burden on anyone. Also he doesn't judge you when you dig through people's trashcans.

as far as I know linus can't actually see you dig through any trash cans since well there are no trash cans in the mountains, and he never enters town

Linus first, then wizard.

I don't care much for cliché characters... the cookies baking grandma, the "get of my lawn" old guy, the greedy shopkeeper, the mentally damaged soldier who can't function in society after war... some of them are really boring.

I would have liked more offbeat approaches to the characters, breaking the cliché molds. In that way Linus is the best, i can't remember ever seeing someone quite like him in my 20 years of gaming.

Linus is like a mix of the homeless guy from previous Harvest Moon games (except Linus digs through trash, the other guy robs you...) and a nomad or druid.

yeah, pretty much every character in stardew valley is cliched in some way, except when you learn more about shane he's not so much

My favourite is definetely Shane - he has the most heartwrenching and realistic story, and despite being a jerk at first, he's got a pretty deep personality (for this type of game, at least). Then George, because his moments of being nice and/or happy are very sweet, in my opinion. Also I'm starting to befriend Elliot, and so far I'm really liking him - judging by his looks, I thought that he would be a "vicious pretty boy" type, but he's actually very nice and also freaking hilarious :D

For some reason girls and women (in this game, not generally) seem less interesting to me than guys, but I married Leah and haven't regret it. Her little story and background were not the most interesting thing ever, but pretty interesting nonetheless, and, unlike many other romantic options, she's not whiny and doesn't act like a teenager.
