If you're in your house at 2am you will pass out with the only negative effect being 50% energy. I would take that option over exiting the game early honestly.
I'll have to redo all that work, I guess.
I posted the issue on CA's bug reporting site.
It appears, (from the wiki), that the character doesn't die when they don't sleep by 2:00AM. He or she just passes out and wakes up with much lower energy the next morning. There may be a medical bill too if someone had to bring them home -- or if the health bar was really low, I guess. I'm not sure if there's a medical bill if the character passes out in their own home.
The question remains: Can your character die? If anyone knows, please reply.
on a serious note sometimes my dog also block my path inside the house, like blocking the tv or chest.. and bed so i agree we should at least be able to carry them to move them somewhere else
your character can't die, if your HP reaches 0 you'll just pass out and somebody will find you and when you woke up you will get message notifying that you've lost something during the pass out like xx amount of gold and few items in your bag, etc.
1. If you "pass out" in your HOME, (not outside), you will NOT lose gold or items.
2. Waking up with 50% energy is NOT related to time: it results when having the Exhaustion debuff, or random chance. (Tested).
3. You can "run past" the cat by holding the movement key (WASD). The cat will blink, and you should be able to move over him.
4. It's not worth restarting the day because you can't get in your bed -- see #1.
I should have kept trying though. I admit that I panicked for no reason when I quit to the desktop. I will have to re-do that whole day later tonight. (I'm late for work!)
If you stop running or change direction the "blink timer" resets.
