Can't go to bed
My character has been married two days and the cat seems to be jealous! She decided to sleep just where I need to get into bed and the spouse is sleeping on the other side. Both sides are blocked. We need a "Shoo!" button.

(I exited the game. I don't know where the save will be when I return or if the cat is still being naughty!)

Ooooh dear, the game saves every morning. There's no interim saves :S

If you're in your house at 2am you will pass out with the only negative effect being 50% energy. I would take that option over exiting the game early honestly.

Good to know. Thanks.
I'll have to redo all that work, I guess.
Did you run into the cat continously? running into your cat, or any npc... except for 1 person will allow you to move past them.

I did. But, it appears the bed is only one 'grid' block from the side wall and the cat was right up against the rear wall, occupying that one and only space where my character can get into bed. Doesn't matter now since apparently, exiting before the morning means I lost that whole day anyway. Next time, I'll try to get home before the cat does.

I posted the issue on CA's bug reporting site.

Weird, I've never seen my cat go near the bed, much less sleep on it or anything.

She wasn't on the bed. She was on the floor blocking the tile where my character can get into bed. My guess is that it was purely RNG that she ended up there.

this happened to me, even if the cat is right up against the bed just persist in walking into bed the cat will move eventually or you will just walk right through the cat

Yeah. I've pushed her sometimes when she was lying on the crop field, or somewhere I needed to do something. (Being a lazy cat is her role and part of the fun!) But this time, I couldn't push her out of the way because the rear and side wall was blocking movement. It didn't look like she was going to wake up either. I should have kept trying rather than panicking and quitting. The consequences of losing sleep are not as severe as I thought.

It appears, (from the wiki), that the character doesn't die when they don't sleep by 2:00AM. He or she just passes out and wakes up with much lower energy the next morning. There may be a medical bill too if someone had to bring them home -- or if the health bar was really low, I guess. I'm not sure if there's a medical bill if the character passes out in their own home.

The question remains: Can your character die? If anyone knows, please reply.

Nop, the char cant die. U can blow yourself if u like and in the next morning somebody found u and bring back to ur house.
lol that was so realistic XD

on a serious note sometimes my dog also block my path inside the house, like blocking the tv or chest.. and bed so i agree we should at least be able to carry them to move them somewhere else

your character can't die, if your HP reaches 0 you'll just pass out and somebody will find you and when you woke up you will get message notifying that you've lost something during the pass out like xx amount of gold and few items in your bag, etc.

Seriously should be able to pick up animal like you can in harvest moon.

Couple of misconceptions in this thread...
1. If you "pass out" in your HOME, (not outside), you will NOT lose gold or items.

2. Waking up with 50% energy is NOT related to time: it results when having the Exhaustion debuff, or random chance. (Tested).

3. You can "run past" the cat by holding the movement key (WASD). The cat will blink, and you should be able to move over him.

4. It's not worth restarting the day because you can't get in your bed -- see #1.

I tried running past the cat. She did blink. But I couldn't the get character into bed.

I should have kept trying though. I admit that I panicked for no reason when I quit to the desktop. I will have to re-do that whole day later tonight. (I'm late for work!)

The most important thing is to keep running until you get through. I've found that the person/animal has to blink for a little bit before it will let you go... but once that happens, you can walk completely through, and make turns as well.

If you stop running or change direction the "blink timer" resets.
