What is this weird pillar I found? (spoilers, maybe?)

I have no idea what this is? It's been on my farm since Fall 23 and the only thing it seems to do is shake a little when I right-click it.

Any ideas?

Do mushroom tree stumps grow without you planting anything? Because I swear this just appeared sometime and I have no idea if it will grow into a mushroom tree or not.

yea. they randomly spawn instead of a tree. I had mine the first autumn. http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Big_mushroom

its a dead mushroom tree... mushroom trees randomly grow in fall and they diiie during teh winter leaving behind a stump... or if they get hit mby lightning they will also just leave behind a stump...
