Saying no to pet?
I never tried it but I was wondering if saying no had any negative effect? Or is it just you don't get a pet?

Saying no to pet can really help you out if you decide to use your house like to hold a lot of kegs. Sometimes they can even block getting to your bed.

There no real negative to not having them. As far as getting them later I've not seen any in-game way too.

You do get points from grandpa for making them happy though.

if you right click your pet enough, you will gat a message saying (Name of Pet) loves you.
if you get this message, and keep the pet's affection up untill Grandpa's Judgement Day, it will contribute one 'point' toward lighting a candle. See the wiki page for more info
