Romance/marriage question.

How long does it take until you enter in a romantic relationship with one of the canidates?
so far i give 2 gifts a weeks and only have 2 Hearts atm with abigail in 4 hours played

Well, I was ready to propose marriage in the end of the first year fall. (Sadly, I didn't realized that I would need rain to make it happens... and there's not rain in winter... no winter wedding for me.)
And I was not rushing at all.

It depends on the gifts you give, whether they like the gift, love it, have a worse reaction. Talking every day helps.

I didn't start getting serious about romancing an NPC until probably winter year 1. I wasn't super focused on it though. I think I finally got married in the fall or very late summer of year 2. Didn't upgrade the house with the nursery until winter year 2.

If you are fast about it, give proper gifts and all, probably can be done late summer to mid fall of the first year to get up to there. But then you need a rainy day after you start dating them (8 heart unlocks this item buy) to buy the item required for marriage so if you don't get one like I didn't you could end up having to wait until spring of year 2 to get married.

Don't miss her birthday if you are in a rush. Supposedly their favorite gift on their birthday is worth a few hearts.
