Slingshot
Slingshot doesn't seem to be shooting properly? Like I'm at the fair and I can only shoot so often, it'd be impossible for me to get even half of the targets.
Also why this 2D inverted mouse aim nonsense? It's literally the worst aiming mechanic I've ever seen :/

It's pretty realistic. What's happening is when you pull your mouse behind your character you're pulling the slingshot string back just like in real life. Being able to utilize that is pretty difficult imo though.

There's a point where realism needs to stop to make room for comfortable mechanics that aren't unusably clunky though :p

The mechanics make sense when you understand them. But the game doesn't do a good job of explaining it. This is true of fishing and a few other things in game too.

The first 3-4 games I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on with the slingshot game and thought the controls were completely crap. Then I figured it out, got a high score, and found out that fishing still gives more fair points.

Also found out the slingshot game is bugged, and sometimes getting a higher score gives less points then some of the lower scores in some wierd instances.

Anyway, sling shot controls. You click on the map to 'grab' the sling, then pull back on the sling in the direction oppisite that you intend to shoot (it will shoot towards the point you originaly clicked). Think of it like pulling back on a bow string. Or something like that.

I know how it works, but it's uncomfortable and inaccurate, I don't think it should be like that at all :(

Well, by looking at the Master Slingshot's tooltip, i'm getting the impression, that the slingshots are joke weapons and intentionally bad and clunky to use.

I think it's a Zelda:OoT reference.

Play the fishing game, if you wanna get rich on tokens. 180+ tokens minimum, if you're half-decent. Even if you get good at the slingshot game, don't expect more than 80 tokens on average.

Even the crosshair is unreliable, so yeah I think they could use some polishing and optional non-inverted controls :)

The thing with the slingshot game is that it rewards accuracy a lot more than points which is hard to get right, I just got 120 tokens on a good run!

For the tokens is better the fishing game, i have 200+ tokens every game. And the slingshot is a crap, i keep mine in the bottom of a chest of garbage.

Yeah, the thing is a nightmare. Half the time, my avatar doesn't even move at all.

I have to disagree about the aiming of the slingshot to be "realistic". Yes, IRL, one hand pulls back the rubber band, but the OTHER does the aiming. You don't aim backward, thus the inverted controls in-game are bizarre and unworkable to say the least. Yes, it might be OK at the Fair... but in combat -- utterly useless.

When I used the slingshot to try to kill things... not only do you have to "pull back", but swing the mouse around to aim at something. And guess what... if you move the mouse too far out of range, it would cancel the charge. This is really not how real life works -- one doesn't twirl around before trying to hit something.

It's pretty worthless in practice yeah, I don't think it should be defended because it's seemingly realistic :p

I can't seem to shoot anything above the platform I;m standing on at the fair. I can only shoot side-to-side.

I can't do ANYTHING on any of those games, the festival ones, either. I googled the things, hoping for technique tips, but found nothing that helped me. You are not alone.

Anyone else think the strong man competition was a referance to Chrono Trigger? They both play the same way and give you 1 "Fair Point" in each game
