(You won't ever see them unless they eat a crop, but scarecrows will say stuff like "I've scared off 9 crows")
And yeah, they're worth it. Crows are the worst. I had one show up and eat one of my crops every day whilst waiting for scarecrow crafting to unlock in the first place, and it was infuriating.
That said, if you have many large farm plots, the losses by crows don't seem to be major. More like ... a little annoying. Well, for regular crops. Losing a parsnip or even a blueberry plant now and then etc.
But losing a rare/expensive seed/s to a crow would be frustrating. To me.
I kind of think crows are a bit RNG ... some of my chrs. have hardly seen any, some have seen way more.
On my 2nd farm, (Only in Winter, Year 1), I have a scarecrow that has scared off 39 crows.
Also keep in mind that if you move the scarecrow the counter resets.
