Missing one fish...a mussel

I have had 20 crab pots on the beach for 2 seasons checking every day, and caught everything but a mussel. I feel like I'm crazy. Picking them up off the beach apparently doesn't count too. Am I just super unlucky or is there a trick I'm missing?

I've found mussels on the beach itself and in crab pots by the ocean, they're probably my 2nd most collected crab-pot based fish.

So I am just super unlucky. Last fish for the acheivment, and I've gone all spring and summer without finding one (finding on the beach doesn't seem to count for the acheivment)

Finding on the beach only counts towards foraging. So yeah crab pots would be the way.

Quite possibly they may be out of season for you. I am in winter and caught plenty of them on the beach (deep water)

Got some about a week into fall. You were probably right about them being out of season, though the wiki doesn't say anything about that.

Same issue for me, mussel didn't appear and i'm putting a lot of crab pot in the ocean since a while, but i didn't try to put my crab pot in deep water though.
