Buy thhe biggest barn possible and buy a very expensive pig. Let him outside on a sunny day when he grows up (not a baby) and check bback at the end of the day it should just be outside on the ground somewhere near the barn (mine is always right next to it since i fenced it in)

A Pig needs to live in your Deluxe Barn. You must also have a grass area outside of the barn for them to roll around in (they don't visually roll), and they will "eventually" find/dig up/drop a truffle every so often.

Because this new dropped item is placed like a block (outside), It counts as a Foraged good, and will be entered for a chance to be doubled and forced to Gold star quality if you have the Foraging perks that do those things.

If I don't just let them roam all around the farm will it just be lying anywhere on the ground?

Will a Truffle drop in the grassy area or just on a plain area?

It can absolutely drop in the middle of some tall grass. Or it can drop on flat ground. It can be kinda anywhere.

They drop every day except Winter, Rain, etc. right? I can't seem to find the answer in any of the wiki's I've looked at.

They don't drop in the winter or on rainy days because the pigs don't go outside then.

Right, but how often does a Pig find them? Once a day, Once a month?

Once a day, as long as they're happy and fed.

The forage lvl 10 skill that shows all locations of dig spots and forage items also shows truffle location where your pig dropped them.

But are they still bugged? I believe for a while pigs were bugged so that if they were in TOO GOOD a mood they wouldn't drop truffles...? So if your pig is grown, has access to a field outside with grass everyday, and it's not winter... I'd try to stay out until like 10pm for a few nights and see if you get truffles after that?

mm, that sounds familiar, but something I can't speak to :~)

They tend to dig up the truffles early in the day. Usually dig one up before I can run over there and get my cows milk and eggs. Once dug there can be up to a 66% chance the pig will hunt for another truffle, then another chance, etc etc (depending on friendship level with the pig). I once had my pig dig up 7 truffles over the course of a single day. 2-3 truffles a day was more common than anything else though.

I don't think he takes more than an hour to dig up a truffle, so you can be pretty sure you're done if he hasn't done any more by noon.
