What is the best floor for catching a ghost fish?

I know they appear in floors 20, 60, and 100 of the mine, but all i keep getting is trash with just one chance at catching a super fast fish perday.

Are you using a bait and lure on the 3rd level fishing rod? I believe I caught mine on floor 20 after many trash catches.

yes and yes. My luck is just very bad.

I caught tons on 60. 20 and 100 especially seem more trash based.

The most annoying cave based fish for me was the Lava Eel, just keep at it and eat plenty of luck based foods with the best Tackle.

Wild Bait would probably help, though you might end up with more of the other kinds of fish, I don't know.

It should at least give you less trash.

Might have batter luck just visiting the wagon by the old forest. The stuff appears mostly random - but I get the feeling it saved me a lot of time and resources.

If he's doing it for the challenges I don't think purchasing fish / crops counts. But you can donate them to the Community Centre with them.

it's both. I'm doing it for the challenge of actualyl catching them myself, and for the community center.

Ah well then I would have also suggested going Ghost hunting, I usually leave the mines with 2+ Ghostfish after killing a few of them.

Ghostfish isn't the "trash" you're catching in the mines? coulda fooled me.they're like the smallmouth bass of the mine-lakes.... *shakes fist at smallmouth bass always having gotten in the way* or Chubs.. I remember Chubs always getting in the way of other fish too.

I had no issue on every level cetching it, but there is always the option of killing ghost on the ice floors to get them.

I was fishing floor 100 all day and got trash, found this thread, went to floor 60 and got it on my 2nd cast (right after my bait and lure ran out)

Just caught one on floor 20 on my 5th cast without any bait or dobbers , used a fiberglass fishing rod , eventhough idk if fishing level has to do with it but just incase mines level 7
