do you have to water trees?

I noticed my trees don't seem to be growing - do they have to be watered everyday? Because they don't do a moist soil thing like the crops do

Just clear out weed and stone if they are right next to it. No need to water it.

Trees don't need water, they just takes a very very long time to grow.

In case of fruit trees:
You need to make sure that the 8 surrounding tiles are free (so in a 3x3 with the tree in the middle nothing else). Even paths and such "decoration"-things hurt the growth. You can add them after it's grown though.

Regular trees dont need an 8 tiles clear area around them. They have 5 stages of growth with 20% chance of advancing to the next stage each day
