Actually the mid-level sprinkler is very useful for most of the game.

But to answer your question -- Iridium is farmed in the Skull Mine

Either go deep in Skull cave, or find lots of Omni Geode and break open.

Why would you waste iridium on that? Buy those sprinklers!


1. Check ♥♥♥♥♥ in the forest every friday and sunday. He sometimes sells iridium sprinkler for 3000 or 5000

2. Donate everything you can to the museum. On 60 items donated you'll gain access to sewers where a trader sells iridium sprinkler every fiday for 10000.

Save iridium for Iridium Band.

With the most recent changes to how Iridium works, if you go into the skull caves with a lot of stone and just make a ton of stairs to go down quickly, you can get loads of it, I got around 170 ore in 1 day.

Why farm lot of iridium, what do you get from it? I thought you only need about 40 iridium bars, 20 for your tools, 5 for the band and maybe 15 for crafting, buildings and sprinklers.

Best Iridium Farming: Build a great farm, make lots of friends, make lots of money, and then ask Grandpa for Iridium. I'm swimming in the stuff.

By the end of the 2nd year, if you advanced a lot in the game, you will get an event at the grandpa shrine. With 4 candles you will be able to get a statue that gives plenty of iridium, daily.

Now, for the other option, is to go to skull caves with 20 bombs, and just kill every purple slime in the way while finding stairs and holes. Better if you get the Adventurer Guild quest item of killing 400 Dust Sprites.

15 for "for crafting, buildings and sprinklers" is a VERY low estimate. In one of my smaller farms, I have no less than 30 iridium sprinklers alone... Farming them is a lot cheaper than buying the sprinklers outright.

Can you use the crystarium for iridium? I know for certain it doesnt work for prismatic shards though

I never said I was.

In mid-game when they are available, it's not difficult to farm iridium when you don't have the cash to buy sprinklers. (At that point, I am spending nearly every penny on expensive seeds, etc. during the first year).

I bring 150+bombs and 100+ salads when I go to the skull mines. I usually make it around level 120 and get 100-150 iridium ores.

But doesn't that mean you're also making fantastic amounts of money off those crops? That's basically what I was saying. I'm swimming in cash, and I don't even farm that much.

There's also the speed issue -- you can only get guaranteed sprinklers once a week from Krobus... the caravan is less frequent.

I'm curious why you are arguing this issue. The OP was asking how to farm iridium. You CAN'T buy the iridium needed for tools. It's also much faster and cheaper to get it from the mines.

Having lots of cash doesn't solve the issue.
