The base sprinkler isn't suppose to be godlike. It' something to tide you over or a while if you're *really* too lazy to water four of our crops. Once you get the second-tier sprinkler things are fine.

I assumed you're talking about tier-1 sprinklers.

the normal sprinkler is garabge get irridium ones they water 24 spaces around them... the quality ones water 8 around them...

Just use the higher level sprinklers that also water corners, or the even higher ones that water another ring out from that.
Feesh Mar 11, 2016 @ 2:18pm
Why? The sprinklers made from copper, iron, and gold water all 8 tiles around them, and the iridium sprinklers water twice that. Buffing the base sprinklers would make them water as many tiles as the more expensive version.

Why are they only watering one tile?

Why are they only watering one tile?

You only have one tile tilled on either side of them. They can't water untilled ground. You need to make a box around them with your hoe.

Edit: By 8 tiles, it means the 8 tiles that directly surround it.

Since you hijacked his thread, the least you could do is read his well-thought-out complaint.

The main value of sprinklers is that they save you time a lot of time and energy on watering your crops daily, which is the biggest investment you'll make into them.

I agree that the first tier feel a little underwhelming, but the second tier and on are actually quite useful. Considering they free you up to do other things with those resources like mining, fishing, or planting more crops, they're actually fairly powerful relative to their cost.

BUFF.

Six iridium and five advanced sprinklers covers 156 tiles, after discounting the tiles they're placed on and two for scarecrows, while still allowing you to get the "mega crops" on like 90% of the tiles.

That's like three hours of watering with the gold watering can and most, if not all, of your energy bar. Sprinklers are fine, imo.

when you have only the first tier sprinklers make a zipper layout to make the most use out of then untill you can craft the quality sprinklers

is a bit of a pain to plant and harvest but unless you want to manually water this is a way to do it
