You can also upgrade your characters inventory by visiting Pierre's. (Once you get the mail announcement.) 2,000g, and then 10,000g for a second and third row of slots.

Study the crops on the game's wiki. (Not the wikia, it's kinda junk.)

Note the buy and sale prices, the time it takes to make certain crops, and whether or not they regrow after the initial harvest. (Which are the real money makers.)

There are a lot of ways to make money in this game - farming crops and selling them is probably the main way but you can sell most items you find for some value in the shipping container next to your house.

*edit* I agree with the post above me ... stardewvalleywiki is an extremely useful site to learn all about the game.

to make money, buy seeds that keep producing (blueberries, tomatoes, hops, red peppars, and bean starter.) and when you get level 5 farming/foraging pick the "produce worth 10% more" hope this helps!

Make money foraging while waiting for your first crop. Watch the farm channel on tv. :)

Just clearing out all the crap from your farm will net you quite a lot. Sell wood, stone and fiber to the carpenter.

Also fishing.

Look at your recipe components and realize that using the various tree seeds you'll find will let you craft a basic food that will help when you run out of energy too fast.

The coral is good to sell initially... I believe you also need that area if you want to get married later

You do. Also the rainbow shells are worth like 600g I think. It's also a good place to fish. (You can't get to that seperate bridge otherwise.)
