Because money. Wine sells.
Geologist -> Gemologist
Maybe not the best choise since gems are rather useless.
Gatherer -> Botanist
Also maybe not the best choise. Hardwood is rather scarce.
Fisher -> Angler
I don't care about the trapper stuff.
Fighter -> Brute
You need less hits to kill enemies. More time to do the meaningful things.
There are no ingame means to change your skills later.
For Mining profession i seriously have no idea because i only reach lv 25 in mine
For Foraging profession i am thinking to go for Gatherer and Botanist for the double harvest bonus and a 100% chance to harvest gold quality forages, that means triple the profit! and i never sell woods..
For Fishing profession i think i'm going for Fisher and Angler because i like fishing and the bonus is very good! 25% + 50% sell bonus, do they stack?
For Combat profession again i have no idea because i still rarely mine and only reach lv 25 so far but i guess i'm going for Fighter and Brute for the damage bonus to help me kill monster faster
what do you think?
The whole point of the profession system is to make your own decisions on what you want to specialize in, it makes little sense to me to ask other people what you should pick considering that.
thank you! that helps a lot, what do you think about my choice in the above comments?
But if you want to make wine out of them the 10% growth speed won't do much.
Mining gets somewhat easy after some time and I find myself lacking of coal.
I guess the coal drop would be helpful.
If you have good income through crops you can ignore foraging.
But you need hardwood for several crafting recipes.
They should. But I can't say for sure.
A few thoughts on what you're leaning towards:
If Agriculturist was really 10%, I'd say that Artisan is 100% the better choice.
Thing is... it's not actually 10%. I don't know if it's a bug, or the description is wrong, but Agriculturist seems to give around a ~20-50% boost, depending on the crop (yes, it varies).
Testing is still being done, but it would appear that speed-gro and quality speed-gro don't stack with Agriculturist, so taking the profession basically gives you the speed-gro boost while still allowing you to use fertilizer.
I'd say that if you intend to make a lot of artisan goods, Artisan is still a better choice. But given that Agriculturist's boost is bigger than is listed, if you just want to grow crops and sell them directly, it's a valid option.
When I wrote the guide, I didn't realize that you gain the ability to buy omni geodes later (in the desert), so I put heavier emphasis on their value than I should have.
There's also the fact that since the new patch, iridium is -much- easier to get late-game.
At this point, I would suggest Miner -> Blacksmith.
My opinion of Forager hasn't really changed. Basically, all options are viable; this feels like the most balanced skill tree to me.
One of the commenters on the guide mentions that you can grow forage items. While this is true, I don't believe that the boost from Botanist applies, though.
Notice that it says "foraged" items, not "forage" items. If you grow seasonal seeds, I don't think that those count as foraged items, since you're growing them. I could be wrong, though...
If it's true that Botanist makes all forage items that you grow yourself automatically gold, then it's a much better profession than I thought, and would go well with Agriculturist (I haven't tested it yet, but I'm guessing that seasonal seeds would grow in about 3-4 days with Agriculturist).
Lumberjack is nice if you don't want to bother with the secret woods, but... eh... I still prefer the Gatherer path. That's just me, though.
I really like treasure chests, so I don't regret having picked Pirate, but given that that iridium is much easier to get now (and that I was suggesting Pirate for the increased chances of getting iridium, primarily), Angler becomes a much more interesting option.
Fighter -> Brute is a solid/safe choice. I haven't changed my opinion of the Combat tree since I wrote the guide.
If you have any questions, just ask.
(also, it's weird seeing your name, I'm watching Sakurasou these days... >.<)
ok thanks! i guess that makes sense since a lot of people seem to find themselves lacking coal and hardwood.
are you the author of that guide page? first of all thanks a lot for creating that guide it helps a lot for giving me useful tips :)
wow if what you're saying is true about the Agriculturist i guess i will pick it because i can grow higher quality crops at faster rate.. i like planting crops better than making artisan goods to be honest
well i guess we should wait for more information about botanist skill affecting our own grown forage, i hope it will though!
thanks for the other tips, i think i should focus on other things too other than gold profit, since having too much gold also doesn't benefit you and you can't buy those rare items from anywhere.. lol
i think now i'm getting closer to what i wanted my character to be, thanks guys for the help!
(Sakurasou is the best ♡ enjoy watching!)
Yes, that's my guide. lol
Glad it helped a bit, at least. Sorry if my choices weren't convincing. >.>
I still testing to do, though, and I based a lot of it just on things I read in the forum and the wiki.
If you're not interested in doing a lot of artisan goods, go with Agriculturist. It looks like it gives roughly a ~33% growth speed boost (more for quicker crops, less for slower crops... more testing is required, though).
If you're not overly focused on making profit, you can take Prospector with Miner, but I really don't see coal being a problem. I've seen quite a few people that find it an issue, though, so maybe that's just me. But the way I see it, between being able to buy it, farming the dust creatures (bouncy balls) on level ~40 of the mine, and the charcoal furnace, it's pretty easy to get.
For Foraging, consider Gatherer -> Tracker (you'll get more forage items for cooking, for example), or Forester -> Lumberjack (for hardwood). Once you have a few foraged items, though, you can grow most of them, so that's an easy way to get them.
But consider the added benefit of Gatherer for the rarer ones, like rainbow shells and purple mushrooms; you can't grow these.
Something I forgot to mention about Pirate in the guide: more treasures means more artifacts, so this can help with the museum.
And though there isn't an official way to change professions, there's always the unofficial one that Silverfox mentioned:
(and I've enjoyed Sakurasou a lot up to now... just a few episodes left, I wonder how they're going to finish it... D:)
To be fair, it's kind of easy to miss/forget. ;)
I imagine a lot of people don't buy ores. They might look at his shop early in the game, not care about coal at that point, then by the time they might want some simply have forgotten about it.
Or simply never looked at the "shop", instead thinking of Clint as "the upgrade/geode guy".
