Animals acting weird?
So I have a goat and a cow in a big barn (whatever the 2nd level barn is) and I am pretty good at keeping feed in the trough for them. I open their gate on nice evenings for them to go in the field and eat the growing grass.

While my cow is happy when I interact with my goat it says that he is sad. Why would the goat be sad and the cow be doing alright? The only thing I can think of is the grass is kind of a distance away from the gate (about 30 tiles) but wouldn't it affect both of them?

Also I have 3 chickens (2 brown 1 white) and a duck. I know the duck lays an egg every other day but sometimes the chickens won't lay eggs. It's the same situation as the cow/goat, although the grass is closer to their gate.

Any thoughts?

According to the wiki, "Goats get sad when the gate is left open at night". I've not confirmed this, but it might be that. You should probably open the gate first thing in the morning and close it around 6PM.

Goats are grumpy? Took a long time for my goat to get up enough hearts to get a large goat milk. She was occasionally not happy, but not for any reason I could discern.

In my experience chickens sometimes don't lay eggs.
