Dancing in the first year of the Flower Dance???

Anybody managed to dance with someone in the first year? I'm not even sure if it's possible to get 5 hearts by then...

The only real impossible (highly improbable anyway) character is Alex but either way the best use of the first year dance day is ignoring it to fish.

First off the second to last paragraph of your statement is flat out false. "For players who prefer to simply game the system with FAQs/guides, they can still accomplish what they want with directed effort."

Tell that to those that want to romance Penny, Elliot, or Alex. Care to point out the guide with which those players can "game the system" to dance with them at the flower dance? Oh wait no you can't because those characters are flat out impossible to get to four hearts by the flower dance because the items they love are not available.

Meanwhile those who like Haley barely have to put effort in as giving her a single loved gift on her birthday gets you over half way to 4 hearts instantly meaning. Then there's Leah and Harvey whose loved gifts can simply be purchased from the saloon from day one for relatively cheap.

So we have at least one character who is mind numbingly easy to get to four, a pair who can be gotten there easily albeit with a little more effort, a couple that can be gotten there based on luck (Sebastian and Abigail can reach four but actually doing it requires luck in mine drops) and 3 who are impossible.

To put it simply

Haley- laughably easy
Leah- easy
Harvey- easy
Sam- normal (loves pizza which can be bought from the saloon but is pricy)
Maru- normal (gold can be smelted albeit pricy)
Abigail- RNG
Sebastian- RNG
Penny- impossible
Alex- impossible
Elliot- impossible

Now does that seem balanced to you? A system where the scaling varies from laughably easy to flat out impossible. No that isn't even close to balanced.

There's no problem with it being difficult requiring players to work for it or to know what they are doing to achieve it, that's fine. But it should be balanced where given enough effort all bachelors/bachelorettes could be raised to four hearts in time rather than some can and some you'll just have to wait until next year no matter what.

I got to dance with Alex first year because of a catfish quest, twas a ♥♥♥♥♥.

When this thread was created, it wasn't even possible to romance Shane. Many changes have occured to the game, its mechanics and even to the Spring Festival since this thread was created (which is why you shouldn't necro things this old).
