My trees aren't growing?
Can someone break down all the requirements for a fruit tree to grow to maturity? I planned an apple sappling at the very beginning of summer and it hasn't grown by the end of the season. There's nothing else occupying the spaces around it, but some of the spaces are/were tilled, and I noticed you can't place buildings on tilled soil... does tilled soil also ruin tree growth? (if so, WTF... also WTF on not being able to build on it, really.) I watered it at first but noticed that it didn't change the color of the ground, so assumed that meant it wasn't necessary and stopped. Is this why it didn't grow?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

So every tree needs the 8 tiles surrounding them to be empty:

Tilled land shouldn't affect it, so that's fine. You also don't need to water it so you should be good in that department. I wouldn't know what the problem is from your description. It sounds like everything is fine.

Screenshot the tree maybe?

As the tooltip for the sapling says, trees take 28 days to grow, AKA one whole season.

Hopefully this works... I don't often post screen shots...

The tree on the left, closest to the scarecrow, I planted on the first day of summer. I'm a week into Autumn now and it's still like that.

Dude you have tilled ground around the trees. It needs to be normal dirt not tilled.

A tree takes 28 days to grow to maturity but it needs to be 28 days of 8 empty normal dirt tile around them.

Okay, that's one of the first questions I asked, and first person to respond said tilled ground doesn't matter. If it DOES matter, that's good to know, but that's also stupid and I hope that gets changed.

Oh really? I had tilled land around my first pomegranate and it grew just fine in 28 days. I don't know anymore. That was two seasons ago.
