It's a nice one in my opinion.
And the only part you can choose the gender of your character.
Dunno about the Harvest Moon ones though.
I had plenty of fun with some of the GBA and early DS versions.
As far as harvest moon games they are decent but not as good as Story of Seasons.
Although it's not a true HM game, and people hate it because of that, The Lost Valley is actually pretty good. The landscaping building options opens up a ton of possibilities in customizating your huge valley. I have a ton of waterfalls all over, along with a swamp, lots of rivers/ponds, and a giant fortress. I made a moat with a castle in the middle of it. It's a little like HM meets Minecraft, but the building features isn't as indepth as Minecraft. I would love future games to expand on this. If you want to see pics of my valley, I could show some. Unfortunately, this game gets a ton of undeserved hate so you probably won't listen to me and go with the majority. I like how it gets rid of some stupid HM mechanics too in this game.
I mean some people still like them, so you might too, but I think you'll see what I mean if you do.
Rune factory has combat and dungeons and befriending wild monsters, and in RF4 you can even bring townspeople out adventuring with you. I think it's your best best after stardew.
Do they all have the ability to farm like stardew?
Kind of similair to animal crossing?
All 3 have in common that you can farm.
Stardew Valley is like Harvest Moon with some combat elements.
Rune Factory is more RPG with integrated farming elements.
RF also has a real story but you can keep playing after the end.
Im a massive anxiety and OCD sufferer including depression - sometimes i just need a game to relax with when things get a bit much, and i cant always be in range of my computer - thats why im looking for the best pick out of the harvest moon / rune factory type games.
If you want go for something... Rune Factory 4 is great, really great. But if you want something more "casual", and still satisfatory to play, go for Animal Crossing.
(Sorry for grammar mistakes, english not native language :P )
